We have received questions concerns what appear to be flames coming from the landfill across the street.  Part of the process to prepare the site for construction, is removal of excess odors and gases created through the compaction of the area.  The burning process decreases odors created mostly from hydrogen (and some methane gases).  The burning process meets all EPA and OSHA standards and will continue for a period of approximately 6 to 8 weeks or so.  There are no health risks to our community.
