What's New This Week (10/29 to 11/4)
Posted on Oct 30th, 2018

Good Afternoon Landsdowne,
Please take a few moments to check out what’s happening around our community.
Trick or Treat -- Wednesday, October 31,  beginning at dusk
Halloween is a fun night in Landsdowne.  Superheroes meet princesses...ghosts and zombies meet pirates and more.  Have fun and enjoy the candy.  We suggest you leave your pets at home this evening.  Costumed figures and loud noises can often scare even the most grounded dogs and cats.
Please be sure to obey all speed limits and stop signs.  There is a lot of activity this night, and sometimes trick or treaters do not use the crosswalks.  If lights are off in a home, pass them by as it means they are not handing out candy.  Finally, have fun.  Enjoy the wonderful decorations, many rivaling Hollywood movie sets.  Happy Halloween!
Interested in Serving on a Committee?

Daylight Savings Time Ends
Don't forget to turn your clocks back! On Sunday, November 4th you get an extra hour to sleep in. Time to fall backward!
We Need Your Input
Event planning without a clubhouse is a challenge. Planning events that will appeal to the greatest amount of Landsdowne residents is a challenge, too.   Please take a few minutes to complete our online 2019 events questionnaire by clicking here.  This is your chance to let us know what might be fun.  It should take only a few minutes to complete the survey.  So far only 16 individuals have completed the survey out of the approximately 2,600 individuals who live here.
Electronic Sign Requests
Your special life events are important to us. For us to post them for you, you must submit a request, through our website here. Messages are programmed a week in advance.  To handle this activity, we are unable to accept email or other forms of requests.  Message board postings will not be added if submitted less 7 days before the requested date.  When completing the form, please remember, the signs are not for Hallmark card wording.  Please keep the text as concise as possible.
Committee Updates
Pool Committee (
The new pool season will be here before we know it!  Are you interested in joining the Pool Committee? Email the committee here to be part of the committee. First meeting will be scheduled for sometime in November.  Keep a lookout for the upcoming date!
Events Committee (
  • Treats for the Troops Extra Halloween Candy Drop Off -- Thursday, November 1, from 6 to 8 pm at the pool.  Drop off your extra candy, bagged or individual pieces.  Kids needing community service hours will help sort the candy to be boxed and picked up to be sent to our troops overseas.  If you would like to volunteer your kids to help, please send us an email.  This is our 10th year doing this.  It is appreciated so much!
Landscaping Committee (
Mom Nature is still sending mixed messages.  Fall one day, summer the next, then winter, then spring.  Who knows what this winter will bring?  In any case, because of the continued higher than average temperatures for a normal year, our bulb planting will take place on Sunday, November 11.
  • Community Clean-Up Day and Bulb Planting -- Sunday, November 11 -- Beginning at 2 pm in Pool Parking Lot.  Join the fun.  Bring gloves.  We will have trash bags, leaf bags, bulbs to plant, etc.  Whether you can dedicate a few minutes or a few hours -- your help will be appreciated.  Rumor has it for those who help there will be food at the end to say thank you.  Just saying.
  • Community Leaf Collection Day -- Saturday, November 17 -- beginning at 1 pm.  This will be the first of two leaf collections. Watch for details in next Monday's email newsletter.
Have any questions?  Please let us know by emailing the committee.
