Landsdowne -- Show Us Your Gardening Talent!

Its all about the curb appeal. Gardeners among us -- show us your homes! The Yard of the Month friendly competition is designed to encourage visually appealing landscapes which show our community at its best.

Landsdowne is filled with many well maintained homes. Lawns are well cared for and free of weeds. Flower beds are filled with attractive plantings. Some gardeners prefer to utilize container plantings. Trees and shrubs are pruned and disease free. Some integrate interesting garden art! Others adapt unusual plant species to our Northern Virginia environment. Many have gone to great lengths to utilize drought resistant plantings to encourage low water needs.

In the spirit of friendly competition and to encourage the creative planting spirit among all our residents, the Landsdowne Landscaping Committee sponsors a Yard of the Month contest between April and October. One winner from the townhome dwellings will be chosen and one from the single family homes.  (Interested?  Please complete the Yard of the Month form.

The monthly contest runs from the first of the month to the last calendar day of the same month. Each winner will receive a Yard of the Month Sign to be placed in their front yard for the month, as well as a $25 gift card from Lowes, Home Depot or one of the many area garden centers. A photo of the winning homes will also be posted on the website.
