Yard Sale -- A HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE for Pat Matzdorff for
putting together another wonderfully successful Fall 2007 Yard Sale.
The day began at 7:30 am and ended just slightly passed noon.
What a day! What traffic (buyers were everywhere)! Roughly 35
residents participated as sellers and "visitors" easily
topped 350. It is amazing what treasures were to be found. The
smiles were easily seen. The "finds" were special. And
when all was said and done, you never knew the event happened. The
parking lot was left cleaner than when it started. What a day! What
a day! What a day!
Pat, thanks once again. You are amazing! Thanks for all your hard
work in making this such a great success.
P.S. Please contact Pat at Pat@Clutter911.com
to secure your space for the November 3rd Holiday Only Yard Sale.
Pat can also assist you with all your organizing needs.

September 2007: 3rd Annual Doggie Swim
Did you ever wonder what "going to the dogs" really means?
If you stopped by the pool on Saturday, September 15th you would now
know for sure. Dog lovers and dog watchers alike met at the
pool during the two swim sessions,
All were greeted with barks, woofs, wet dogs and wonderful
doggie kisses. The day was perfect, the dogs in high gear, and all
were incredibly well behaved.
Large and small dogs alike swam, ran, played and had a ball (with or
without their own ball or frisbees). Some enjoyed the
"big" pool (even the little guys swam here). Many
enjoyed the baby pool (yes, there are even Goldens, Labs, Malamutes
and Norwegian Elkhounds that feel more comfortable in the security
of less than a foot of water). Puppies swan with the Senior
Dogs. Shepherds were "coaxed" out of their shyness
by energetic Jack Russells, Dachshunds, MinPins and Chihuahuas.
A sea of Labs, Goldens, Miniature Schnauzers, and German Shorthaired
Pointers were joined in play and swim with Mastiffs, Beagles,
Aussies, and The Best of the Best Heinz 57 Variety All American
Mutts.
There was no end to the laughs and enjoyment experienced by all who
attended. We even had two 3-legged pups that didn't slow down
for a moment during the day's fun. When it was time to call it
a day the dogs headed home with their own special doggie bags and
event day bandanas.
Thanks to all 318 canine visitors that attended and to the 407 of
their humans who came to watch, to swim with their dogs, to help,
and to just simply enjoy the day. Thanks also, for the
many donations of pet-related items, gift cards, and money.
The Alexandria Animal Welfare League was the recipient and will see
that all donated items go to many pets in need.
Was Dog Swim 2007Pawsitively Gurrreat??? It was, without a
doubt.
See you next year ... Same time! Same Place! Lots of
lots of new fun.
P.S. If you would like your own special Commemorative Dog Swim
2007 Bandana (Yellow, Red, Green or Blue), they are for sale for
$2.50 each with all proceeds going to future community events.
Purchases may be made by contacting SpecialEvents@Landsdowne.Org.
