Plowing will continue through the night
Posted on Feb 6, 2010 Comments (1)
Our plow contractor will continue plowing and piling snow thorugh the night unless the slush has forzen solid. A second crew of plows and skid driver operatirs is being called in to work in tandem with the primary crew to get us cleared as soon as poissible.
We appreciate your patience. Everyone is in the same situation. Though many of you may have cabin fever the longer you can stay off the streets with your vehicles, the quicker our streets will be driveable and cleared.
Thank you!

Yes -- the Snow is Really Coming
Posted on Feb 5, 2010 Comments (0)
The Farmers' Almanac appears right again. We are about to get dumped on once again -- 12 to 24" of snow by Saturday evening. The plan right now -- plowing will begin at roughly 6" and continue with every new 6" accumulation. We will post current updates here as they become available.
- Please stay off the streets if at all possible during the snow. Compacted snow is far harder to move that freshly fallen snow.
- Park in your driveways when possible on the single family streets.
- You are respnsible for shoveling your own walkways. Attached is a link to the Fairfax County Snow removal guidelines.
- The tennis courts will be opened this evening for dog play and remain open throughout the storm.
If you are available to volunteer to help neighbors who, for medical resaons cannot shovel snow, or to help with the common area sidewalks, please contact Cyndi (571-237.5813) or Landscaping@Landsdowne.org.
Break Away Speed Bumps
Posted on Feb 4, 2010 Comments (0)
The break away speed bumps presently located on Morning Meadow Drive, High Valley, Topper Court and Sky Blue Drive will be temporarily removed in the next few days to allow for safe snow removal. The Landsdowne BOD is reviewing the placement of the bumps and the possibility of replacing them with permanent ones in the spring.
