This will be our 6th year.  We are so excited to have Landsdowne's own Silvia Murphy as our instructor again this year.  Silvia makes it fun ... with just the right amount of challenge built into each and every class.

2014 Pool Season Forms Now Under Forms and Documents
Posted on May 29th, 2014 Comments (0)
The 2014 Pool Season has begun.  Mom Nature is once again presenting challenges -- weather wise -- but we know there will be many fun filled days ahead.  By all indications, it will be a great summer.
If you still need to apply for your 2014 Pool Pass or for Extended Family Passes, the links you need are found under the Forms and Documents Section here on the website.  Unless you are a summer Landsdowne move in (with documentation showing the date) there is now a $35 late application fee for passes.  Passes are processed on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of each month only -- delivery is usually 3 business days after those dates.  If you failed to pick up your passes and did not let us know prior to May 24th, there is also a $35 late pickup fee.  No applications or passes are ever kept at the pool.
The Pool Party Reservation Form is also found there.
We hope you have a funfilled, relaxing summer.  Please always feel free to let us know your comments and suggestions how we can make the pool a better experience for everyone.  (Pool@Landsdowne.Org)

Hilltop Village Center Street Names
Posted on Mar 17th, 2014 Comments (0)
We have been asked by several residents how the street names for Hilltop Village Center were assigned.  A very good question -- and frankly, we did not know the answer.  After consulting with Michael Galliott (the family who owned the property where the center is located) we learned the following --

"I named three out of the five roads in the shopping center by combining first names and last names from my family.
  • Clemaline comes from my grandparents Clem and Aline
  • Heneska comes from my great-grandparents Henry and Franceska
  • Gailson comes from Gailliot and Dyson (grandmom’s maiden name)
The other two are Old Beulah Street and Hilltop Village Center Drive."

Portable Fire Pits
Posted on Mar 17th, 2014 Comments (0)
Spring will be here on March 20th, and by weather indications one day soon.  We know it.  We really, really know it.  As the weathe becomes nicer, people want to spend more time outside.  The question of firepits (portable and permanent) is often raised.  Before purchasing or installing one, please read the following Fairfax County Regulations pertaining to firepit use.  If you wish to install a permanent one, ARD approval is required.

Think permanent spring, please.

July HOA Board Meeting
Thursday, July 24th, 7-9 pm
The meeting has been canceled due to a lack of quroum among the BOD members.  A few LMATPFNPR times will be scheduled for August to meet at the pool to talk informally with Board members and friends about all things Landsdowne.
The Next formal meeting will be August 28th -- 7 pm at the Kingstowne Center for Active Adults.  See you then.
Doggy Yappy Hours
Sunday, July 27th, 4-6 pm at Tennis Courts
Calling all Dog lovers.  Please join us this Sunday for our 1st 2014 Yappy Hour at the Tennis Courts.  This is the time we "go to the dogs" for an hour or two.
Think of this as a mini-dog park.  Dogs may be off leash and run and play to their heart's content.  All dogs must be socialized to dogs and people.  Unaltered dogs are not permitted.  Children under age 12 must be accompanied with a parent.  This is an "at your own risk" event -- by attending you agree to hold harmless Landsdowne in the event of any accidents, injuries or lost dogs.  We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave, without notice, at an time.
Please be sure your dog "does their business" before entering the court -- and clean up in the event of any unexpected "presents."
A few dog pools will be provided for our water dogs.  Frosty Paws will be available when you leave for the first 50 dogs attending.
See you Sunday.  If you have questions, please contact SpecialEvents@Landsdowne.Org
